I’m Sad to See Her Go, Godspeed Hillary and the Fake Divide

OK, so it was time (maybe past time) for Hillary Clinton to bow out of the presidential race.  For some reason, Hillary just rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.  I have to admit though, that I am pretty sad to see the newspaper headlines revert to the classic photo layout of the top two males running for President.  OK, ok Barack Obama is African American and that’s new and exciting.  However, it was pretty nice to have Hillary and Barack up there on page 1.  Anyone else question why an African American male can make it, but a female still can’t?  Just wondering.

The Fake Divide:  Or How to make news out of nothing:  I’ve noticed a lot of fear mongering among the press i.e. “Oh no, what will Hillary supporters do?”  “Did the primaries divide the Democrats?”  “Will they stay home on election day? Vote for McCain?”  Don’t be absurd.  Obama’s got my vote.  I’m not one to cut off my nose to spite my face.  And it wasn’t even that hard to make the switch.  Now to get AZ governor Janet Napolitano on the ticket as VP 🙂

I went online the other day to get a Hillary Clinton bumpersticker.  I was amazed by the vitriol out there (see  There are stickers that say “Even Bill didn’t want her” that comment on her thighs, that call her a commie, that depict her as a witch, and more.  In addition, the “I miss Bill” line of thought is disturbing.  Are there really people that will elect Hillary just to get Bill back in the White House?   This seems a stupid rationale to elect her as President.   I have mixed feelings about Bill because his moral compass is, shall we say, a little off, although I agreed with his policies.  Anyway, I was a little fearful to put the bumper sticker on my car, knowing the reaction Hillary can get.  Is someone going to key my car?  Give me the finger?  Cut me off?  But to hell with them anyway, this is America and if I can’t put on my bumpersticker without fear of retaliation, then something is seriously wrong.  Everyone needs to stop worrying about “electability” –which only seems to come up with Hillary–and vote for the candidate they want.  You go girl!
